Commissions advise the Council on specific <br /> """'YP actions and offer citizen input on issues of importance. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Annually the City Council requests interviews, appoints and re-appoints Commissioners and/or <br /> 7 declares vacancies on the standing Commissions. At the December 12, 2011 meeting, the <br /> 8 Council confirmed the reappointment calendar. They agreed that at the January 9 organizational <br /> 9 meeting, the Council would determine whether they want to reappoint the commissioners who <br /> '1 0 are reapplying or invite them to be interviewed at the January 23 regular Council meeting. <br /> 1,1 Commissioners would be appointed to terms that begin April 1 and run through March 31, 2015. <br /> '1 3 Nine commissioners have expressed interest in reapplying for their various commissions.
