<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Ie <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the <br />City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, <br />Minnesota was duly held on the 14th day of March, 1988 at 7:30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Cushman, Johnson, ~1atson, <br />Kehr, and Rog, <br /> <br />The following members were absent: None. <br /> <br />)\1ember Matson <br />adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved its <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 8273 <br /> <br />Resolution supporting the concept of <br />Minneapolis-Saint Paul hosting the <br />1996 Summer Olympics. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Secretary General of the United States Olympic <br />Commi ttee has initiated an inquiry to determine whether the <br />ci ties of Minneapolis-Saint Paul are interested in hosting the <br />1996 Summer Olympics; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the mayors of Minneapolis-Saint Paul have asked area <br />municipalities for their general support to the concept of <br />hosting the 1996 Summer Olympic Games; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metro Area enjoys a temperate <br />summer climate well suited to international athletic competitions <br />and now possesses numerous excellent athletic facilities suitable <br />as Olympic venues; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the )\1inneapolis-Saint Paul Metro Area has the capacity <br />to provide the necessary accommodations to support visiting <br />athletes and spectators; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />revenues <br />extensive <br />funds; <br /> <br />the 1996 Summer Olympic Games would bring significant <br />to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metro Area as well as <br />international recognition, without expending taxpayer <br />
