Grants supplement city
4 funds, allowing the city to deliver services in a more cost - effective manner. Certain grants also
5 give the city the opportunity to pursue creative activities which may otherwise not be funded.
6 Council asked for clarification for when the City Manager would seek grants without Council
7 approval and the requirement that the City Manager to notify the Council of any grant
8 applications.
9 POLICY OBJECTIVE
lo Give the City Manager authority to submit grant applications in a timely manner and to report
11 any grant application to the City Council.
12 FINANCIAL IMPACTS
13 Potential for the City to receive substantial grant monies which could offset City expenditures.
14 STAFF RECOMMENDATION
15 Approve the proposed resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute certain grant
16 applications on behalf of the City and require the City Manager to report any applications to the
17 Council.
18 REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION
19 Approve the proposed resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute certain grant
20 applications on behalf of the City and require the City Manager to report any applications to the
21 Council .
22
Prepared by: Bill Malinen, City Manager
Attachments: A: Resolution
