Date: 5/18/09 <br />Item: 13.a <br />Rskspac+Ey <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 05-11 -2009 <br />Item No.: 13.a <br />Department Approval Acting City Manager Approval <br />6 46�1 <br />Item Description: Update to City Council on Code Enforcement actions taken to resolve <br />current public nuisance violations at various Twin Lakes properties. <br />1 BACKGROUND <br />z At the March 30, 2009 City Council meeting the Council directed staff to inspect the Twin Lakes <br />s redevelopment area and act upon any public nuisances observed. Staff inspected the Twin Lakes area in <br />a early April and observed the following violations: <br />s o 2814 Cleveland Avenue (Dorso): <br />s 0 Junk and debris. <br />7 0 Building in need of maintenance. <br />s o 2001 County Road C (Roseville Properties): <br />s 0 Building not secure. <br />10 0 Building in need of maintenance. <br />11 0 2690 Prior Avenue (P.LK): <br />12 0 Building not secure. <br />13 ■ Graffiti. <br />14 ■ Junk and debris. <br />15 ■ Building in need of maintenance. <br />16 0 2660 Cleveland Avenue (Roseville Properties): <br />17 0 Two buildings not secure. <br />18 0 Buildings in need of maintenance. <br />19 0 1947 County Road C (Roseville Properties): <br />20 0 Two buildings not secure. <br />21 0 Graffiti. <br />22 0 Buildings in need of maintenance. <br />23 On April 17th notices were sent to all property owners identifying observed violations and requesting <br />24 that public nuisances be corrected within 14 days. The notices addressed the more significant of the <br />25 issues such as: buildings not secure, graffiti and junk/debris. Building maintenance issues were deferred <br />26 in order to take care of the more imminent public safety issues first. <br />27 On May 5th, staff re- inspected each of the sites for compliance. Some of the identified public nuisances <br />28 had been corrected while some had not: <br />29 o 2814 Cleveland Avenue (Dorso) — violation not corrected. <br />so 0 2001 County Road C — (Roseville Properties) violation corrected. <br />31 0 2690 Prior Avenue — (P.I.K.) violations corrected. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
