Attachment A <br />29 PROCLAMATION <br />30 <br />31 FRANK ROG DAY <br />32 <br />33 June 7th, 2009 <br />34 <br />35 WHEREAS, in 1960, Frank Rog was hired as the Roseville Parks and Recreation Director where <br />36 he served in that capacity until 1987; and <br />37 WHEREAS, during his 27 year tenure the Roseville Parks and Recreation System grew from one <br />38 park with a mobile recreation system that operated on school and private property to an <br />39 award winning, nationally recognized, smoothly integrated Parks and Recreation <br />40 System that we know today; and <br />41 WHEREAS, his strong ability to bring volunteers, community leaders and city officials together was <br />42 extraordinary and significant to the City of Roseville's establishment and growth; and <br />43 WHEREAS, he was the catalyst that contributed to make it all happen and truly made a significant <br />44 contribution to the City of Roseville and Roseville Parks and Recreation; and <br />45 WHEREAS, Frank Rog was tenacious in his efforts, vision, enthusisasm, creatvity, willingnees to <br />46 work with citizens, volunteers, groups and individuals; and <br />47 WHEREAS, his way of working with people to get them involved and to stay involved was <br />48 exceptional and contagious; and <br />49 WHEREAS, he laid the foundation of the Roseville Parks and Recreation System and watches over <br />50 it still to this day. <br />51 WHEREAS, On June 30th, 2008, upon recommendation by long time Parks and Recreation <br />52 community groups and contributors: Roseville Central Park Foundation, Friends of <br />53 Roseville Parks (FORPARKS) and the Friends of Harriet Alexander Nature Center <br />54 (FORHANC) the Central Park Amphitheatre was named the Frank Rog <br />55 Amphitheatre; and <br />56 WHEREAS, Franks contribution to the establishment of the Park and Recreation System has been <br />57 enjoyed by past generations and will be forever enjoyed by future generations for years <br />58 to come; and <br />59 WHEREAS, Much of the foundation that he laid contributes to the future and to a <br />60 system that only gets better because of what Frank began; and <br />61 <br />62 <br />63 <br />64 <br />65 <br />66 <br />67 <br />68 <br />69 <br />70 <br />71 <br />72 <br />73 <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby <br />proclaim June 7th, 2009 Frank Rog Day in the City of Roseville. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Roseville <br />to be affixed this 18thday of May, 2009. <br />(SEAL) <br />Craig D.
