MEETING 622-81 <br />DATE: - <br />R FOR, COUNCIL ACTION <br />AGENDA SECTION 4 ORIGINATING <br />Field surveys that. were made in a preliminar plan were sent to the state and <br />Y <br />Ramsey County for comments, Based on those comments, together with any belong <br />recei.ved from the citizens at a public information meeting. of June 18,, 1981 <br />e design plan has been prepared. <br />Basically, the plan is to construct an 8 foot pathway from Garden to <br />on the west side of Lexington -Avenue and then continue northerly between Woodhil I <br />and County Road D in a similar 8 foot pathway on the east side of the road, <br />The contractor's cost would be 75% reimbursabler_from the state funding With the <br />remaining 25%. together with any engineering and'easement costs 5-eing the responsi- <br />bility of the City. <br />If this i's approved, it is expected th�t:the work would be done late in the 1981 <br />construction season if easements can be obtained in a timely manner, It might be <br />noted that this proJect will also be dovetailing with the major interchange work- <br />0 <br />*eing done this summer by Minn/DOT at Highway 36, whereby provisions will be made <br />for a bike trail off the roapdway under the Highway 36 bridge, <br />Recommended Council Action: Approval. of plans and authorization for th <br />staff to obtAin the necessary easements.
