MEETING
DATE: WMEMENEWI=
0
AGENDA SECTION: RIGINATING DEPT./DIV.: DEPT. HEAM APPROVAL,
Reports & Recomendations Admi ni strati on
ITEM NO.' ITEM DESCRIPTION,
Francis Johnson request to reconstruct fence
on right-of-way at 1693 Ridgewood
Attached is a letter from Mrs. Francis Johnson of 1693 Ridgewood Lane requesting permission
to reconstruct a fence that was destroyed in the recent tornado.
As the Council will recall , permission was given to the staff to approve the reconstruction
of non-conforming structures that had been damaged in the storm. In this case it was
found that while part of the fence was non-conforming in that it was within required set-
backs, there was also a portion that was illegal since it was on city right-of-way.
Mrs, Johnson was advised of this condition and chose to 'request Council permission to
reconstruct the fence as it previously was rather than move the fence,
As you can see from the attached site plan, the applicant has three storage sheds which
would have to be removed in order to move the fence. These are, of course, also on
city right-of-way and would require Council approvel to remain.,
The applicant has obtained the approval of neighbors on both sides and across the street.
The City Engineer has reviewed the request and finds no reason why it should not be
approved, provided the applicant agrees to remove the fence and buildings should the
6
right-of-way be needed in the future.
Council Action Requested: Motion (approving) (denying) Francis Johnson's
