To preserve the existing trees <br />which line each of these streets, the street width was reduced fro <br />the standard 32 feet to a 29-foot width. This reduction in width <br />will require the prohibition of parking-on one side of the street,] <br />Staff has sent questionaires to the residents of each of these <br />streets, requesting their input into this decision. The results <br />*f those who responded are as follows: <br />ELDRIDGE AVENUE: Prohibit <br />parking <br />on south side <br />10 <br />Prohibit <br />parking <br />on north side <br />6 <br />Other <br />2 <br />BELY-ONT LANE: Prohibit <br />parking <br />on south side <br />3 <br />4 <br />A common concern was- to avoid obstructing mailboxes with parked <br />cars, <br />The mailboxes on Eldridge are on the south side of the road. Belmont <br />Lane,, however, still has to-the-house mail delivery. <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION: 1) Adopt a resolution prohibiting parking on <br />the (north) (south) side of Eldridge Avenue <br />from Hamline Avenue to Pascal Street, <br />Adopt a resolution prohibiting parking on <br />the (north) (south) side of Belmont Lane <br />from Hamline Avenue to Pascal Street. <br />
