HEAD APPROVAL, <br />Vk <br />!� � ill i I <br />The plan would establish them as being overall in charge of surface water <br />management, including providing new funds to the organization not previously <br />available., and requesting legislation to require a stoirm water management <br />plan as part of each city's comprehensive plan. This plan would not eliminate <br />any of - the current agencies working with, storm water, but -would be an additional <br />I eve 1 o f ma nag ement . <br />It would establish 43 water sheds, with a special plan to be prepared for each <br />of them. A cost of $6 million over the next two years is projected to prepare <br />the basics of the plan, and an estimated $43 million to implement it. An addonal <br />cost of $10 million per year to operate and maintain it al-so has been estimated, <br />The Association of Metropolitan Municipalities have adopted a position opposing <br />this new plan, and it would seem desirable for the City of Roseville to make <br />its position known at the hearing.S. <br />Kecommended Council Action: Motion (opposing) (appTiovi-ing) of the proposedm <br />Metropolitan Council draft plan concerning <br />surface water management, and instructing the <br />staff to info-rm the Metropolitan Council of <br />Roseville's position on this matter, <br />
