Rationale: When residents receive information in a timely manner and 'in clear <br />understandable language, they are better able to process and provide feedback on <br />how they would like their city to be run. <br />a) The city should encourage staff to be proactive-on researching and investigatin,1-F4 <br />issues of probable concern to residents-and then volunteer that information to <br />residents in a timely and clear manner. <br />a- <br />b) The city should use existing city mechanisms and private means such as th,O. <br />N <br />Roseville Issues Forum and the electronic news vehicles of Patch and the I <br />TWI <br />c) The city should use neighborhood networks such as homeowner associations, <br />SWARM., the Lake McCarrons Neighborhood Association, and possibly the City`s <br />Neighborhood Watch block captain system to supplement their existing <br />information systems and to invite residents' responses. <br />d) The city should develop other ways to communicate with residents such as th,%t, <br />Social Media, blogging, and other technoloQ,11,,v. <br />e) The city should demonstrate that it is actively listening to citizens by <br />acknowledging their requests and comments within two business days,, even <br />when the results of a decision may be different than the citizens desired or <br />expected. <br />L The city should continue its practice of using task forces of residents to asses <br />significant issues and make recommendations to the city council or city <br />manager.
