I Human Rights Commission <br />2 Meeting Minutes <br />3 DRAFT — November 16,2011- DRAFT <br />Commissioners Present: Jill Brisbois, Kristin Doneen, Vice Chair Gary Grefenberg, Wayne <br />Groff, Thelma McKenzie, Kaying Thao, Chair David Singleton <br />Youth Commissioners Marie Siliciano <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order and the clerk called the roll. <br />Approve Agenda <br />Commissioner David Singleton moved and Commissioner Jill Brisbois seconded motion to approve <br />the agenda. Motion prevailed unanimously. <br />Approve Minutes of October 11, 2011 <br />Chair Gary Grefenberg distributed and reviewed suggested changes to the minutes. Chair <br />Grefenberg moved and Commissioner Singleton seconded motion to approve the amended minutes. <br />Motion prevailed unanimously. <br />Report of the Chair <br />Chair Grefenberg reviewed the standing committee structure and membership. He asked that the <br />Outreach Committee pick someone to attend the Operations Committee meetings. <br />Chair Grefenberg said he met with the City Attorney to discuss the open meetings laws. He said the <br />City Attorney would be invited to attend the January meeting. <br />Chair Grefenberg encouraged the Outreach Committee to use email lists collected from various <br />forums for outreach to the community. Commissioners discussed various ways to use the lists, <br />including sending messages about things happening in the community. <br />Commissioner Thelma McKenzie arrived at this time. <br />Youth Commissioner Marie Siliciano suggested including those messages onto the Facebook page <br />she is working on. <br />Carolyn Curti distributed an updated Commission roster, reminding commissioners that some <br />information on the roster was non - public. <br />Operations Committee <br />Chair Grefenberg reviewed the Operations Committee report. The committee reconsidered whether <br />any commissioner may participate /attend standing committees, but they did not take any action. <br />
