When fire personnel are responding Code 3 from the fire station it is
critical that they have adequate visibility and clear site lines when pulling on to Lexington Ave.
Because of the length of the apparatus, maintaining proper site lines while making a turn on to
Lexington would be very difficult under the current standards, which creates a safety hazard for
both firefighters and citizens.
PROPOSED ACTION
Staff is proposing that Title Seven, Section 703.04 be amended to exempt publicly owned and
operated public safety facilities from the driveway width maximum regulations.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There are no financial impacts.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending that the City Council adopt the Ordinance amending Title Seven, Section
703.04, to exempt publicly owend and operated public safety facilities from driveway width
maximum regulations.
REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION
Prepared by:
Attachment A: Ordinance
