EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 12th day of September, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Kehr, Johnson, Matson, Cushman, and Rog, and the following were absent: None. Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 8361 RESOLUTION OF LOCAL APPLICATION WHEREAS, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC), via the State Capital Bonding Fund, provides for capital funds to assist political subdivisions of the State of Minnesota for the develop- ment of sport facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville desires to construct and develop a Speed Skating/Bandy/Multi-Use Facility for the sports of Speed skating and Bandy; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Roseville: 1. Estimates that the total cost of developing said facility shall be $7,237,000.00, and the City of Roseville is requesting $7,237,000.00 from the State Capital Bonding Fund and will assume responsibility for a match requirement of land costs. 2. The city of Roseville agrees to own and enter into an agree- ment with the State of Minnesota in accordance with section 7 of the Sports Facility Bonding Application to operate said facility for its intended purpose for the functional life of the facility which is estimated to be indeterminate years. 3. City of Roseville agrees to enter into necessary and required agreements with the Minnesota Amateur Sports commission for the specific purpose of constructing a sport facility and long-term program direction. 4. That an application be made to the State of Minnesota, Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission, to be included in the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission's (Governor's) Capital Budget request for an amount presently estimated to be $7,237,000.00. 5. That the city Manager and/or Director of Parks and Recreation is authorized and directed to execute said application and serve as the official liaison with the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission.
