<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly <br />held on the 12th day of September, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Kehr, Johnson, Matson, Cushman, <br />and Rog, and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8361 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF LOCAL APPLICATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission (MASC), via the <br />State Capital Bonding Fund, provides for capital funds to assist <br />political subdivisions of the State of Minnesota for the develop- <br />ment of sport facilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville desires to construct and develop a <br />Speed Skating/Bandy/Multi-Use Facility for the sports of Speed <br />skating and Bandy; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville: <br /> <br />1. Estimates that the total cost of developing said facility <br />shall be $7,237,000.00, and the City of Roseville is requesting <br />$7,237,000.00 from the State Capital Bonding Fund and will <br />assume responsibility for a match requirement of land costs. <br /> <br />2. The city of Roseville agrees to own and enter into an agree- <br />ment with the State of Minnesota in accordance with section <br />7 of the Sports Facility Bonding Application to operate said <br />facility for its intended purpose for the functional life of <br />the facility which is estimated to be indeterminate years. <br /> <br />3. City of Roseville agrees to enter into necessary and required <br />agreements with the Minnesota Amateur Sports commission for <br />the specific purpose of constructing a sport facility and <br />long-term program direction. <br /> <br />4. That an application be made to the State of Minnesota, <br />Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission, to be included in the <br />Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission's (Governor's) Capital <br />Budget request for an amount presently estimated to be <br />$7,237,000.00. <br /> <br />5. That the city Manager and/or Director of Parks and Recreation is <br />authorized and directed to execute said application and serve as <br />the official liaison with the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission. <br />
