REQUEST FQR COUNCIL ACTION
AGENDA SECTION,', ORIGINATING DEPT./DIV.4
Reports & Recommendations Public Works Director
ITEM NO - ITEM DESCRIPTION' Petition for Glenhill Road Reconstruction,
ST-P-81-11
MEETING 4/12/82
DATE: 0
I-EPT. HEAD APPROVAL.
Last August,, the City received a peon signed by 12 of the 13 property
owners on Glenhill Road., between Snelling Avenue and Hamline Avenue. You
-may recall, that this was a boundary road, with the north half of the street
being in Arden Hills, and the south half being in Roseville,
At that time, the Council
received
a petition a-nd authorized the staff to
work with Arden Hills in an effort
to develop a joint
powers agreement for
the feasibility study and
p-otentially the improvement.
Arden Hills has
subsequently met with the
property
owners on its side
of the street to
review their procedure for- assessing a roadway reconstruction such as this.
Unfortunately, since their process
is to assess 80 to
100% of the cost., th(.-
Arden Hills residents now
indicate
they are no longer
interested,
Arden Hills has,. therefore, sent us a letter requesting that the proj ect
not be undertaken at this time because of the funding problems. Since
this is a boundary street., and would logically require both communes
to be involved, it is similarly the Public Work's Department position that the
[roject should not be pursued at this time,
If the Council concurs in this approach, then the staff will contact
ffetitioner to explain the situation, and end our efforts for this
improvementO
Keicommended Council Action: Adoption of a Resolution terminating project
ST-P-81-11, Glenhill Road,
