I
Rosevi 11 e Ci ty Counci 1
City of Roseville
E660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, MN 55113
rMITOTIUNIT,
In a recent letter dated August 15, 19829 to Mr. James Andre, I identified
z parking shortage at the Rosedale Shopping Center during peak shopping
periods. I further stated that we have been reviewing the parking needs
at Rosedale and have hired a traffic and parking consultant (BRW) to assist
us in studying the problem and recommending a solution which would eliminate
the parking and traffic problems that have been experienced in the past.
The attached graphics and background material reflect the results of the
study conducted by BR14. The present trend is toward smaller car sizes,
approximately 30 to 35 per cent of the existing cars parked at the Rosedale
Center are compact or sub-compact cars. It is felt the existing parking
dimensions in the Rosedale parking lots can be altered to add 520 parking
spaces.
These
additional parking
spaces can be added by
re-striping
the angle parking
inside
the ring road of
Rosedale to a 60 degree
angle and an
8.8 foot stall
width.
Additionally, we
would re-strine the 90
degree head
in parking on the
0
perimeter
lots to an 8.5
foot stall width while
retaining the
65 foot bay
w 'd
These perimeter
lots are used primarily
for employee
parking and, there-
fore,
have a relatively
very low turnover rate.
