Gentlemen.
vi
November 5 1979
Our f i rm, CENTURY 21 Jay B1 ank Real ty, Inc. , handl ed the sal e of
the home at 1840 North Lexington and feel we had the ideal buyer in the legal
firm of TIESO AND STEVENS, for it would be difficult, in good conscience, to
0 1
have sold the home for single family use with the anticipated widening of
Lexington Avenue,
It seemed to us that a small professional office that would not
change the residential appearance of the block and that in effect becomes
a barrier between adjacent homes and -a commercial drive-in situation would
be the ideal solution to the nasty problem. In addition, I feel that a law
office would not depreciate the surrounding real property values and may if
properly maintained, enhance the immediate communityd
I hope you will check this out personally and case the area during
banking hours. If you do, you too will be convinced that this house is not a
practical, home for a family with children, infant or teen-age, or even an all-
adult family. And like us, you may conclude that the fairest solution to
present and future owners dilemma is to permit its use as a professional officel
to
1, a-renam,
CENTURY 21
Jay Blank Realty, Inc.
I pi, i r
Jay Blank,
JB :j a
..........
41
....................
W119a and Operated
As you know, the
house is in direct line of 4 to
5 lanes
of drive-in
traffic 8
to 11 hours a day, and street parking has been prohibited
on both
Lexington
and Ruggles. As
a consequence, -occupants of and
visitors
to the
home must
park in the back
yard. There are other problems
for the
luckless
home owner
Including noise, lights and pollution,, and none
of them
are going
to go away
if the house is
sold as a homed Sooner or later the problem
must
be net.
It seemed to us that a small professional office that would not
change the residential appearance of the block and that in effect becomes
a barrier between adjacent homes and -a commercial drive-in situation would
be the ideal solution to the nasty problem.
