ITEM DESCRIPTION: Czble Q=mications Advisory Cmmittee MGR. �ViEWED/ RECOMMENDS-, <br />The City has advertised that applicatiorm to serve on the Cable Cmmunications <br />a <br />AdV#ory Corrud-ttee would be xemived and that review and possible appointraent. of <br />ComTd.ttee __ could occur at the Novenber 5. 1979 meeting. <br />lae City'has reoeived the attached citizen applications . <br />9 <br />In addition, it is recamended that either the Director of Police SemLoe or the <br />Plire Chief, or both, be apr-ointed to the Comittee to represent the public safety <br />interests that cable aM=cati-c= may potentially provide. <br />�;Xfm## pjxq <br />Total 3 - 7 <br />The CbmInittee would have two pr ulinary cbj ectives - First, to advise the - Council an <br />whether the City should support or oppose the proposed Cable Service Territory by <br />Capital City Cable Corrpany The hea ing on the proposed territory is scheduled for <br />Dp��� 14, The Corrmittee therefore, would need to omrnnoe meting as soon as <br />possible; <br />Second., to report back to the City Council on the basic provisions of a proposed , <br />franchise, or a recomTendatim that there is no need for cable comunications in the <br />City. If t11 re need, then -that need would be identified in the report, as well <br />as suggested neans to satisfy this need.
