It is not a complaint.

I understand that it costs organizations about $20.00 to write a business letter or
process an invoice. Attached is a MPCA invoice which was sent to me for $2.99
for 14 copies. Most people would conclude that the MPCA is losing $17.01 for
eacI1'$2.99 invoice that thEW 'send out ($20.00 -$2.99 = $17.0.1 loss). .

t

And it probably costs my company another $20..0.0. to pay this $2.99 invoice (for
14 copies).Soi't costs the Minnesota economy a total of $40..0.0. to pay these
$2.99 govenim~nt inyoices(for 14 copies). If you includflthe $20.0.0. cost for this
letter and"the$20.,QO for a MPCA reply letter, 'then the total cost is $80.0.0. for
the $2.99' iryvoic,efor14 cppies. Shouldn't. VVfJ be spendingourUmited .resources
on something other than bureaucratic,: paper shufflh1g. . ..

Finally, I would like to say that the MPCA .employee who mad~. the copies .fQrmp
was an extraordinarily helpful, pleasant, energetic cooperative person, and to me
that is the most important aspect of the entire transaction.

Sincerely

Don Dame

, Copy: Senator Gene Merriam - Do we need a new law?
