<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 28th day of February 2005 at 6:00 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Kough, Ihlan, Maschka, Schroeder, Klausing <br />and the following members were absent: None <br /> <br />Council Member Maschka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO.1 0282 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE LIVABLE COMMUNITIES GRANT FUNDS FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS, LIGHTING AND LANDSCAPING AS PART OF THE <br />ARONA-HAMLINE NEIGHBORHOOD MASTER PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS. The City of Roseville received a grant from the Metropolitan Council <br />Livable Communities Demonstration Fund in 1996, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the guidelines of the grant encourage increasing pedestrian flow by <br />installing sidewalks and additional landscaping in the public right of way, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Arona-Hamline Neighborhood Master Plan was approved by the City <br />Council on March 26,2002 with a to "Connect, Balance, and Renew the Neighborhood for <br />the Betterment of the People in the Neighborhood and the City of Roseville" and to <br />provide public connections through streets and vedestrian trails within the neighborhood; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the remaining $68,900 of$150,000 of the Metropolitan Council's Livable <br />Communities Demonstration Fund is designated for landscaping and sidewalk improvements in <br />the public right-of-way. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Roseville City Council does <br />hereby approve the use of the Livable Communities Grant for the construction of sidewalks, <br />lighting and landscaping on Terrace Drive and Arona Street not to exceed $68,900. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the grant funds will only be distributed for those <br />actual expenses incurred in connection with boulevard landscaping and sidewalks in the public <br />right-of-way as part of this project. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member <br />Schroeder and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor: Kough, Ihlan, <br />Maschka, Schroeder, Klausing <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: None <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
