<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 01/31/05 <br />Minutes - Page 15 <br /> <br />LoBaido. <br /> <br />RV A Executive Director Dino LoBaido <br />Mr. LoBaido expressed appreciation to the City Council <br />and Mayor Klausing for the opportunity to demonstrate the <br />successes of 2004 in the community, region and state. <br /> <br />Mr. LoBaido briefly provided an update on current staff <br />and Board of Directors; addition of a new Sales Manager as <br />requested by the Hotel group to more aggressively pursue <br />business. Mr. LoBaido reviewed the purpose of the RV A; <br />winners in those efforts (i.e., area businesses, Roseville <br />residents and businesses, visitors, and the City of <br />Roseville); use of the three-percent (3%) lodging tax to <br />support the RV A; marketing efforts; advertising and active <br />selling efforts, including the new Web site and video (with a <br />portion of the video presented); uses of other and various <br />media sources; active selling effort opportunities; and <br />tracking of successes, sales and revenues, including <br />comparisons from 2003 - 2004 with an economic impact of <br />business done in Roseville at $2,448,535. <br /> <br />Mr. LoBaido highlighted notable successes in 2004 <br />including, "Roseville Glows!"; Economic Development; <br />participation in the annual RoseFest celebration; and <br />community information source from their HarMar location. <br /> <br />Mr. LoBaido noted the anticipated and specific plans for <br />2005 included the new visitors guide; a holiday get-away <br />program; continuation of the RV A Hospitality Awards <br />ceremony; a new R V A newsletter; and support of the Sister <br />City Program; as well as continuing to solicit memberships <br />to further enhance networking opportunities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough thanked the R V A for taking on the <br />Sister City Program; and offered suggestions for tree <br />lighting options. <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />Council Rule to Adjourn Meeting at 10:00 p.m. and <br />Reconvening the Next Day <br />Councilmember Schroeder noted that Councilmembers were <br /> <br />Council Rule <br />regarding time of <br />Adjournment <br />
