<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 01/31/05 <br />Minutes - Page 36 <br /> <br />City Attorney. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder expressed his confusion with this <br />motion; opining that additional leverage should be retained prior <br />to any repairing of the unit. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka spoke in support of the motion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough spoke against the motion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke against the motion. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka and Klausing. <br />Nays: Kough, Schroeder and Ihlan. <br />Motion failed. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to proceed in forming the Task Force to <br />provide overall discussions on offsetting the subsidy to the <br />OVAL. <br /> <br />Bill Cushman, Midway Speedskating Club <br />Mr. Cushman requested Council clarification of the charge to <br />user groups for fundraising purposes. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing responded that, prior to expending funds on an <br />engineering study, the City Council was seeking options for and <br />input for the long-term financial viability of the OV AL for <br />maintenance and operations; and the Council's willingness to <br />accept donations for assistance with such an engineering study. <br /> <br />James Addition Crossing Photos <br />Councilmember Kough requested that staff meet him the <br />following day to obtain photos for presentation to Lt. Governor <br />Molnau at the upcoming meeting. <br /> <br />The City Council so directed City Manager Beets to notify staff <br />as per Councilmember Kough's request. <br /> <br />13.
