<br /> <br />Resolution of Appreciation <br />Jessica Wilson <br /> <br />Whereas: The Girl Scouts of the USA has provided young women leadership <br />opportunities for more than 90 years; and <br /> <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville is committed to recognizing and honoring <br />volunteerism and the hard work of members of the community; and <br /> <br />Whereas: <br /> <br />Jessica Wilson is a member of Girl Scout Council of St. Croix Valley; and <br /> <br />Whereas: Jessica decided to share her love ofliterature with underprivileged children <br />in Minneapolis and St. Paul. She coordinated a book drive to benefit Sharing and Caring <br />Hands and Language Sprout, a children's language immersion school. Jessica conducted a <br />district-wide book drive in all of the Roseville Area School libraries. By the end of the <br />drive, she collected and donated 314 books to the organizations; and <br /> <br />Whereas: Jessica met the challenging standards and completed five requirements that <br />promote community service, personal and spiritual growth, positive values and leadership <br />skills; and <br /> <br />Whereas: In recognition of Jessica's hard work she has achieved the Girl Scout Gold <br />A ward, the highest award in Girl Scouting. <br /> <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby declare May 23, 2005 to be <br />Girl Scout Day in the City of Roseville and urges all citizens to recognize, praise and <br />honor Jessica Wilson's accomplishments of earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. <br /> <br />In the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A. <br /> <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of <br />Roseville to be affixed this 23rd day of May, 2005. <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Craig D.
