Approval of Side Yard Variance to
Construct Garages
Approximately a dozen years ago, Mr. Schrieber built the two eleven unit-
apartment structures on Lexington Avenue. as sh.own on the attached sketch
Mr. Schrieber has continued to,own and operate these buildings in a
creditable manner. Maintenance of the grounds and buildings has always
been well done, and Mr. Schrieber notes that he never has a vacanc
y
5. If the apartments were to be constructed today,. the ordinance would require
a total of 22 garages In view of this policy, on'e can assurne that it
would be advantageous to build - addiftional garages for the 22 units. If it
is felt that the garage location as proposed will not adversely affect
contiguous development, it would appear that the proposal is a reasonable
0:
6, We suggest that the Planning Commission and Council inight attach a condition
to the variance that the garages be constructed with the same exterior
material and design as the existing garage to as to complem-ent the design
of the.area already devel'oped,,
