'�� --- During the la.st Legzslative Sessioz� the Legislature adop�ed a statute tha� requires laca.l units oi governments to regula�e bingo games . It provides tha't i.f the �m.uiicipa].i.ty does not adopt an ordinance covering bi.ngo opera�ians and the licensing af such operatzans, the City wi11 be deemed to have adopted the provisions o� the State statute. T}ie Attorney has reviewed �this legislation and has su�arized its requiremen.ts. Attached is his leiter. In discussions wYth the Attarney he has recom�nended that the Ci�Cy adopt the State Statute by reference establishing a license fee and providing that a violatxan be a misdemeanc�r. Establish an annual fee of $Z00 2. include a provision in the ardinance whi�h will a11ow an orgartization, wifi.h Cotmcil approval, �a operate up ta b bingo games per week. The KC's xequest is based on the fact thai they axe presently operating 5 games per week and woul.d iaish to maintain this same 1eve1 of operation.
