To provide watex sexvice to this area it was necessary to <br />conn.ect to the wa�er�na.in located on Har�].ine Avenue and then canstruct an extension <br />�rom it. 7n the p�ans it was indica�ed that the�e should be a"dry" tap, that is <br />that �he watermain would have to be shutaff and drained so that the tap cauld be <br />made. Further investiga�ion has fo�+.uid that to accomplish this, approximately 15 <br />sepaxate taater valves wauld have �o be shufi.off and severaZ Re�seville customers could <br />be without �,rater for a period of as mt�ch as �aur houxs. The contractor has p1ro-- <br />posed to make a"�►�et" tap, that is a tap while the Iine is und.ex pressure, for the <br />cost af �850 a� the sarne time giving the City credits of �54�.90 far work that wauld <br />not have ta be done using this tappzng methoa. The ne� e£�ect of the contract is an <br />xncrEase o£ �305.I0, increaszr�g the contract price to �270,�29..25. <br />Recom�nended Action.: Approval of Change Order No. 1 to F. 1�Tarettini <br />Construction Company for Projects 75-�4 and 75-20, <br />Combined Storm Sewer Improvemen� Prajects 76-7A and <br />76--8, Pro�ect B, in the amozmt of �305.10. <br />� r <br />
