qASPAL+E <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department Approval <br />twA"M <br />Item Description: <br />Date: 02/27/12 <br />Item No.: I La <br />City Manager Approval <br />otq%o <br />Lake Owasso Safe Boating Association Request for Placement of Water Ski Course and Jump on <br />Lake Owasso. <br />1 BACKGROUND <br />2 The council, at its February 13, 2012 meeting established a public hearing for February 27, 2012 <br />3 to solicit public input on the Lake Owasso Safe Boating Association's request for placement of a <br />4 water ski course and water ski jump on Lake Owasso. <br />5 Notice of the Hearing was mailed to affected lake property owners and posted on the City's <br />6 bulletin board. <br />7 POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />s The Lake Owasso Safe Boating Association requests approval for placement of a water ski <br />9 course and jump in the same locations as in the previous forty -four years. <br />lo FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />11 There are no financial impacts to the City. <br />12 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />13 Conduct a public hearing to solicit input on Lake Owasso Safe Boating Associations request for <br />14 a permit from the Ramsey County Sheriff for a water ski course and jump on Lake Owasso. <br />15 REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />16 Conduct a public hearing to solicit input on Lake Owasso Safe Boating Association's request for <br />17 a permit from the Ramsey County Sheriff for a water ski course and jump on Lake Owasso for <br />18 the 2012 season. <br />Prepared by: Lt.
