Variance Board Meeting
Minutes – Wednesday, June 01, 2011
Page 2
No formal action required.
At the request of Chair Gisselquist, Associate Planner Lloyd reviewed the recent amendment
to State Statute that relaxed interpretation of variances; and findings that would now be used
in determining variance requests.
Chair Gisselquist noted that, unlike Planning cases, variances did not typically go forward to
the City Council; but action of the Variance Board was final, pending any appeals or objections
received during the ten (10)-day appeal period.
Mr. Lloyd noted that past practice was that, if a variance request came forward as part of a
Planning Case; the full request may proceed to the City Council similar to a typical Planning
Commission case.
5. Adjournment
Chair Gisselquist adjourned the meeting at approximately 6:13 p.m.
