.,� , <br />G. GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES <br />1. A grievance shall be defined as a dispute concerning the <br />intexpretation o� the City's Affirmative Actzan policies. <br />Z. Grievances made by employees will be processed through a <br />procedure ��hich wi�l consist of the �ollowing steps: <br />a. The grieved employee shall }�resent the grievance <br />�o his/her Departmen� Head. <br />b, If the grievance is not rnutually resolved tiaith the <br />Department Head irri�hin 10 days, the employee may submit <br />the grievance to �he City Manager. <br />c. If the grievance is nat satisfaciarily resolv�d with the <br />City Manager wi�h lU days, the decisian may be appeal�d <br />-Co the Equal Employment apportLmity Commission, the <br />Departmen'� of Htur�an Ri_ghts , or the Court. <br />�. The City Affirmative Action Officer shall make available to <br />aJ.l employees Yn�orm�ation concerning the ri.ght of employees <br />to ini.�ia�e di.scrimS.natior� complain�s ttir.�th �he Equa1 Employ- <br />ment Oppnrtunities c.:o�nisszon, State Department of �iuma.n <br />Rzghts ox the Courts. <br />4. N'o employee shall be subject to harrassment, reductiori of <br />employment s'tatus ar bene�its, or loss o£ ac�van.cement <br />possibi].ities as a result of having initiated such a cort�plaint. <br />
