REV{�I�D/RcCOYfIv1rND5= <br />Several. yeara ago, the a�,mers of t�e prape�:ty directly west o€ Zimmerman Lake obtained <br />approval from the City for the praposed construction of a hotel complex. As part <br />of �i�is repiew process anti appzoval, it was determined that a portian of the starm <br />w�ter ponding flood plaixt ort the western ed�e of �immerman I.ake could properly be <br />u�ilized for parking purposes. In order to utilize th�s iand, however, it was nec� <br />essary to have the approval of the Minnesota Highway Department inasmuch as they <br />originall.y owned the 3.aad and turned it over to �he Citiy, wi�h condition that they <br />have purpetual storm water stnraga abilities on the pond. <br />Legal delays have caused the developm�nt to be postponed, but �he owners aze still <br />desirous of clearing up the flood p�.ain fi�l questioa so tha� they may pursue the�r <br />development without delays when. the fiscal. climate improves. The owners, rh�re�ore, <br />solici�ed appraval for this fiZling of the f•bood plain at Ramsey County who in turn <br />nbCained approval, from the Rice Creek Watershed District. The SCate has now indi,cateci <br />�ts approvai �f the CiCy would agr�� to �aintai� the elevati.on of the pond. at 922 or <br />lower to insure adequate poicding. <br />This wonld not seem to be a pxoblem 'to the CiCy, since maintain�.ng this elevation would <br />actually pravide increase starage abilities for large rainfal}.s.
