Consid�rabie investiga-�ion toQk place in this area and as a result, new pum� sequences an� valves were i�plemented 11;11CF� corrected thi5 problem far �ne mast part. Conversations have �ndicated that these probleir�s have no� reappeared tf�is saasan. It v�as found, however, that some dead-end mains exist on Nand Streei and Auer- bach Adenue� fror� P9fnnesota A�enue northa�rard, U�hich are SU5C8p�lIJ�@ -�o thes� Ecinds or prable�s. Ta correct this rnatter, a new 6" watermain st�ould be co.n-- structed along Bismarck Avenue from 4°des`ern io Auerbach. This would loop ti�ese dsad-end mains and provide a second service point and flow source for these owners. Since thes� pr�operties a7ready ar2 served by �ratermains, the standard benefits of providing �-�ater io a parcei wau7d not exist in this case. It is not our intention to assess �hese costs �a the abutting property awners, but, ratner, to vi �w the si t�ation as a genera� improverraent. Si nce assessr�en�s would noi be levied, pubiic hearings likewi5e would not be necessary. It is anticipated tr�at this worEc could be accomplished yet �k��s fall at a cas� of approxinately �7,86Q.OQ. Fund� for this t�oric �vauld be from a waier res�rrte fund. Recommended action: Approval of iF�e p7ans and estimates far Improvem�nt W-75-9, �vatermain on 8ismarck Avenue from tdestern to Auerbach Avenu� and authorizing the receipt of bids for said work on 5eptemb�r 9, 7975.
