D. Linebarger
I wish to express to you and -he council my objections to the pxoposed
high—rise apartment buiding a 104 Larpenteur Ave. without a deed
restriction. Prior comma.tmets with 'ack 297 Scouts prevents my attend—
ance at he public haring on 8 September.
The objectzons of Mailand and Johnson to the deed restrctions limiting
-the building to iase as a senior ci-izens high—rise belies theix cantentzon
of what the bui.l.ding will be used for. Wa.thout the res-triction, the buiZding
will become noisy with children having no place to play thus drive out any
senior citizens and handicapped individUals that do move in. Handicapped
people on cruches, in wheelchairs, or blind c3o not mi.x with pushing, rtuni.ng
children zn hals, stazxways, or elevators. The end result would be a
crowded high--rise wi.th insufficient parking and insufzcisnt room for chi.l.dren
ta Pia .
am not against the use of the building for senior citizens and handa.cappad
ixzdividuals since the location is we11 suited for hat use. With the wo
shopping plazas, -the theaters, the clinic, and the doctor's offices across
Larpenteur, the people wotld not have far to go for their daily neads.
If the higYz—ra.se zs truly to be for the handicapped and senior citizens,
why the objections to the restrictians?
Sincerely,
  /. ,
. -s=- - . d s -
Howard M.
