Mr. Majerus apologized to the remaining departments that he needed to leave now due to another commitment and would miss their presentations. Cutting edge with technology, operations Public Works Director Duane Schwartz noted the health of the department was a result of many years of collective effort, leadership, good staff, and Council support and funding. Mr. Schwartz noted that the City had a strong Public Works program due to those efforts, and further noted the only community that had a self-funding Pavement Management Plan (PMP), wit solid funding through assessments and state aids. Mr. Schwartz reviewed the collective experience and diversity of the Public Works staff; diversity of services; and cutting-edge status of technology and operations; allowing the City to compete comparatively with private sector services.
