<br />Regular City Council Meeting - 03/08/04 <br />Minutes - Page 12 <br /> <br />action suit was all that could be recovered financially. <br /> <br />Further discussion included the public bidding process; condition <br />of the current roof and further exposure to liability if replacement <br />were not sought; and the need to involve others familiar with <br />precautions necessary in removal of the hazardous materials in <br />the existing foam roof. <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Schroeder seconded, authorizing the <br />acceptance of the low quote from Roofspec in the amount of <br />$8,000.00 for the preparation of specifications and the <br />advertisement of bids for the replacement and remediation of the <br />roof at the Roseville Ice Arena, with monies to be taken from the <br />City Building Replacement Fund; at a cost not to exceed <br />$8,000.00. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan sought clarification of who would be <br />responsible for documenting work and collecting settlements; <br />with Mr. Brokke responding that the Consultant, along with the <br />construction company. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan, Kough, Maschka, Schroeder and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Presentation about Citizen Advisory Commissions: Possible <br />New Citizen Advisory Groups, including an Environmental <br />Advisory Task Force and a Business Advisory Commission; <br />Possible Changes to Commission Term Lengths and Term <br />Limits, as well as to the Citizen Appointment and <br />Reappointment Process <br />City Manager Beets briefly reviewed the background of this item <br />with current vacancies in standing citizen Commissions; the <br />expiration of ten (10) of those terms on March 31, 2004 as per <br />current resolution; and eligibility requirements for <br />reappointment. Mr. Beets further addressed Council directive to <br />research two (2) new potential Commissions/Task Forces: a <br />Citizen Environmental Advisory Task Force and a Business <br />Advisory Commission; along with a comprehensive look at he <br />size, term lengths, term limits and appointment/reappointment <br />process, and potential merging of commissions as applicable. <br /> <br />Presentation about <br />Citizen Advisory <br />Commissions: <br />Possible New <br />Citizen Advisory <br />Groups, including <br />an Environmental <br />Advisory Task <br />Force and a <br />Business Advisory <br />Commission; <br />Possible Changes to <br />Commission Term <br />Lengths and Term <br />Limits, as well as to <br />the Citizen <br />
