Informal Citizen-Council Workshop: Small Group and Informal Citizen <br />Individual Conversations with Citizens as they mingle with and Council <br />Councilmembers and Staff who are located around the Workshop <br />meeting room at stations containing display boards and other <br />materials describing City operations. <br />Specific post card notice had been provided to residents on the <br />west side of Lexington Ave., in addition to other means of media <br />notice, to alert residents of today's meeting. <br /> <br />There were approximately 40 - 50 residents in attendance, <br />including representatives of Citizen Advisory Commissions, <br />several candidates for the upcoming Special Municipal Election; <br />not inclusive of staff in attendance to represent various City <br />Departments and provide information on volunteer opportunities <br />wi thin the community. <br /> <br />2. Formal Meeting: Mayor's Welcome, Council Roll Call, Formal Meeting: <br />Introductions of Councilmembers and City Staff Mayor's Welcome, <br />Council Roll Call <br /> <br />Informal Roll Call <br />Councilmembers Ihlan, Kough, Maschka, Schroeder and <br />Mayor Klausing (Voting Order). <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing opened the meeting at 9:33 a.m., and thanked <br />residents for their attendance; explaining the purpose of today's <br />meeting to receive public input prior to the 2005 Budget process; <br />and to hear of community issues and concerns of which <br />Councilmembers may not be aware. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing and Councilmembers introduced themselves. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder introduced City Council candidates in <br />attendance; and urged everyone to get to know the candidates <br />and to vote in the upcoming municipal election on 04/20/04. <br />
