REVIEWED/RECOMMENDS: <br />G-1 Rice Street �-� <br />When the Rosedale Estates apartment complex on Rice Street near the V�net�.an Inn <br />was consiructed, temparary signs were erected adverta.sing the fact �hat space was <br />available and that the facility was open. Some pexmits were taken out for such <br />temporaxy signs, but problems developed as to their location. <br />Tn adclition to this, a si.gn was placed on top o� the roof of *he apartment buildi.ng <br />advextising �hat space was available, which is not in conformance with our <br />regulations. Cantacts were made with �he owner at tha�t time and such a sign was <br />removed from �he original building, but was left or� i,he most recently constructed <br />facility, because the new owner was coming on the scene. Mr. Filister is naw <br />requesting that he receive approval to continue the sigi in this location. He wi11 <br />be appearing at the Council meeti.ng. <br />If the Cot.u�cil is so d�sposed to allow �he signing, they might wish to refer t� the <br />various sections o� the code that are pertinent, name�y, Section I4,060 - Roof Sign <br />Proha.bi�Ca.ons; Section 14,120 - i�ocation and Size of Fvr Sa1e Sig�s; and 14.200 <br />Sign Regulations in Residential Districts. Copies af these sections are attached <br />for your review. <br />If approved, and a temporary permit is granted, it sh�uld be limited to a period <br />�o£ one year. <br />NO'I'E: This item was continued to the May 20th meeting and it was <br />requested that Mr. Filister appear on his behal£. <br />
