<br />30 process of eliminating candidates and transferring their votes to the next ranked <br />31 continuing candidates shall be repeated until a candidate receives a majority of the <br />32 votes from the continuing ballots. <br /> <br />33 (d) If the total number of votes of the two or more candidates credited with the <br />34 lowest number of votes is less than the number of votes credited to the candidate <br />35 with the next highest number of votes, those candidates with the lowest number of <br />36 votes shall be eliminated simultaneously and their votes transferred to the next <br />37 ranked continuing candidate on each ballot in a single counting operation. <br /> <br />38 (e) A tie between two or more candidates for the fewest votes as specified in <br />39 subdivision (c) shall be resolved by lot with the candidate chosen by lot being <br />40 eliminated. <br /> <br />41 SECTION 3: Effective date.
