REVIEWED/RECOMlUIENbS: <br />.��1�- <br />il�e Public Nlorks Department has recentl,y completed a study on the location <br />and bpardin� conditians of horses throughout th� community. 7a date v�e have <br />found twen�y twa {22) horses inside tE�e community at various iocations as <br />shawn on the attached listing, �9os� of these horses have been in the <br />corranunit,y for several years and were t�ere before the most recent ordi�ance <br />chang� tivas made in the code on the boarding of horses. <br />In addition to the study of exisiing cor�ditions, the staff has cantacted <br />our attor�eys cancerning tF►e clarification and expans�on of the existing <br />code to better suit the ciiy's needs. This proposed amendment is also <br />attached for yaur consideration. <br />Recor�mended Council Action: Approve t�ie ar�endment to S�ction 146.045 of the <br />City Corie �roviding for minimal area and fencing of horses. <br />TNFORMATION <br />On June 24, the Council denied a variance request of Mrs. Wallace Turek to <br />keep two riding horses on property at 465 North McCarrons. The ordinances <br />required 3 acres for a ri.ding horse and the property in questian had 2.6. <br />It appears from the survey that all ai the horses except those located at <br />465 North McCarrons (Mrs. Turelc), and 3024 West Owassa were in the City <br />prior to the ordinance change. Mrs. Tur�k requested to be heard. <br />Under the License Section a li�ense appli�ation for 3 horses at 2025 County <br />Road B{iNrs. Ann Jaglowski) is submitted £or Council consideration. This <br />application was withheld pending the above survey. <br />
