As shown in figure 3, on page 3, of the Pilot Study, the collection quantities
for our existing Dual Sort system have been basically flat for the last six
years despite education attempts to increase collection quantities and the
number of dwelling units that recycle.

3) If we would switch to Single Stream, the pilot study indicates we will see
an increase in collection quantities for a very insignificant increase in cost of
$7.14 per Dwelling Unit per year. If we can educate the public more during
the switch over to Single Stream, we may even see an increase in collection
quantities above the pilot study. Since this will be a new system there will
be an increased awareness in recycling.

Per the pilot study, a resident will increase the amount of recycled material
going into a Single Stream container, thus tbe amount of material going into
the garbage container is less. Maybe residents can reduce the size oftheir
garbage container enough to off set the $7.14 per year increase to Single
Stream.

4) Ifwe go with dual sort, where will the revenue sharing go? Into the
general fund?? Into the Recycling fund?? Or Back to our residents.

5) By going to a Single Sort vendor who supplies the containers, we will
also save $8,000 per year from the recycling budget for containers.

I would appreciate your support to go single sort so we will see less material
going to the landfill at a very insignificant increase in cost (a can of pop per
month). Environmentally this is a very sound choice.
