He has also served as the Director of Operations and General Counsel <br />for the Minnesota Association of Townships Insurance Trust, as an Assistant State <br />Auditor and Director of that office's Tax Increment, Investment, and Finance Division, <br />and as a shareholder at the Minneapolis law firm of Kennedy & Graven where his <br />practice focused on municipal law and public finance. He was formerly a member of the <br />Circle Pines city council and park board and chair of the city’s planning commission. <br /> <br />
