The following LMCIT Board members are member city officials appointed by the League Board <br />to govern the activities of LMCIT. <br /> <br /> Todd Prafke, City Administrator, City of Saint Peter <br /> Del Haag, Councilmember, City of Buffalo <br /> Joel Hanson, City Administrator, City of Little Canada <br /> Mark Karnowski, City Administrator, City of Princeton <br /> Jim Miller, Executive Director, League of Minnesota Cities <br /> Desyl Peterson, City Attorney, City of Minnetonka <br /> Rhonda Pownell, Councilmember, City of Northfield <br /> <br />Unique Coverages and Features <br />Cities have unique needs that private insurance carriers <br />coverages are specifically designed for cities and are broader than any type of coverage offered by <br />private insurance carriers. As new needs or problems develop, LMCIT modifies coverage or <br />develops new programs to meet those needs through coverages, training, and services. <br /> <br />e very broad and are complemented with an array of innovative <br />coverages like extraordinary expense coverage, accident coverage for volunteers, coverage for <br />emergency response personnel affected by posttraumatic stress disorder, coverage for dredging and <br />excavation claims and so on. <br /> <br />coverage and <br />municipal liability, property, auto and w <br />unit is located at LMCIT. The property/casualty unit has six offices spread across Minnesota: <br /> <br /> North unit in Virginia and Moorhead. <br /> South unit in Mankato, Willmar and Rochester. <br /> Metro-east and metro-west at LMCIT. <br /> Small claims handling and specialty claim unit at LMCIT. <br /> <br />The property/casualty claims unit handles municipal liability, property, and auto claims. The unit <br />also has a set of claims adjusters to handle specialty claims: small property, first party property, <br />employment, police and land use. This department is well versed in addressing complex issues <br />such as coverage issues, settlement terms, oversight and investigation, and litigation management. <br />They work to develop strategies for case management and to determine the best and most logical <br />method to bring a claim file to its conclusion. <br /> <br />Compensation Statue is met. The claim adjusters investigate claims, regularly communicate with <br />the city, employee and all parties involved, determine compensability, calculate and pay lost time <br />benefits, and ensure appropriate medical care. The goal of this department is to assist an injured <br />employee in obtaining appropriate medical care quickly to help the employee return as close as <br />possible to his or her pre-injury condition. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
