<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 23rd day of June, 1997, at <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Wilski, Maschka, Mastel, Goedeke, and Wall, <br />and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Maschka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9422 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR A COPS <br />ADVANCING COMMUNITY POLICING GRANT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Police Department would like to expand its Community Oriented Policing <br />efforts while at the same time make productive use ofthe many Roseville residents who have offered <br />their assistance in these crucial efforts; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one of the basic tenants of community oriented policing is: the more people reached, <br />the more they will reach in return, creating a network throughout the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Police Department has plans in place to utilize citizens; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Roseville Police Department apply for a COPS <br />Advancing Community Policing Grant to financially support a citizen volunteer program to patrol <br />parks, trails and related recreational areas and to establish an office in the Fairview Community <br />Center to answer questions regarding City ordinances and provide resource referral. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Goedeke, <br />and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Wi ski, Maschka, Mastel, <br />Goedeke and Wall, and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
