<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 07/12/04 <br />Minutes - Page 26 <br /> <br />and community avoid the "group think" promotion. <br /> <br />Dino LoBaido, Roseville Visitor's Association <br />Mr. LoBaido expressed concerns with additional retail in <br />Roseville, given his work with the hospitality industry through <br />the Roseville Visitor's Association, noting his concern for <br />another major retailer and ramifications to the Rosedale Center. <br />Mr. LoBaido questioned whether an all housing development <br />would be appropriate; and expressed his interest in keeping <br />some business involved in a mixed use concept. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing clarified that his intent in panel comment <br />would be more focused on the group's interpretation of the <br />process, their level of comfort with the final report, and their <br />recommendations, rather than to argue positions. <br /> <br />Mr. LoBaido expressed his overall satisfaction and value to <br />process; opining that it would have been helpful to have more <br />detail as to what smaller retailers were being considered, while <br />recognizing the challenge of providing that information at this <br />time, but noting the influence that information could have to <br />him as a panel member. <br /> <br />Tam McGehee, At-large panel member <br />Ms. McGehee opined that the overall process was good, <br />particularly the educational pieces, but preferring that the panel <br />had not been presented with an already-determined <br />development team, with concept plans in place, making the <br />entire process seem "backwards." Ms. McGehee reiterated that <br />the process of educating the panel about the various issues was <br />beneficial to the panel and the City. Ms. McGehee supported <br />Mr. Sands' proposal for mixed use, with office added when <br />business was more level. <br /> <br />Dan Roe, At-large panel member <br />Mr. Roe thanked the City Council for appointing the panel and <br />him specifically, expressing his appreciation for being involved <br />in the process, and saw it as a benefit and great learning <br />opportunity to him as a citizen and to the panel as a whole, <br />noting that the information presented and educational process <br />
