GOMMITTEE <br />REPORT <br />PREPARED ON <br />MARCH, <br />20i2 <br />PROGRAM <br />PLANNING <br />COMMITTEE <br />`��`1��., <br />����� <br />March 21, 2002 <br />Item 6.ii.b <br />Program Planning Committee <br />HUMAN RIGHTS <br />GOMMISSION <br />MEETING <br />OF <br />MARCH 21 , <br />20i2 <br />Members Present: Kaying Thao, Gary Grefenberg, Kristin Doneen. <br />Officers: Commissioner Grefenberg resigned as Chair of the Programming Committee, <br />and Kristin Doneen was appointed Chair. <br />I. <br />Committee Membership: The Committee finds itself with four members: Jill <br />Brisbois, Kristin Doneen, Gary Grefenberg, Kaying Thao. There was some <br />question (by Commissioner poneen) about whether Commissioner poneen was a <br />member (or merely an attendee), however it was agreed that the Committee is in <br />need of more membership and leadership to support this working committee at <br />this time. Chair Grefenberg resigned as Chair, and Commissioner poneen was <br />appointed as the new Chair of this Committee. All meetings of quorum will be <br />noted per open meeting laws. <br />II. Advocacy for Elderly: The Roseville HRC is cosponsoring two community <br />dialogues with the Shoreview Human Rights Commission. These events will be <br />held at the Shoreview Community Center from 3:00-5:00. Appreciation goes out <br />to the Outreach Committee for coardinating this event. <br />March 19: Why Seniors Get Swindled and How to Shut the Door on Scammers <br />Apri123: Reporting Elder Abuse and What Happens Next <br />III. Project 515 Follow-Up: The Committee will invite those members who <br />requested follow-up communication in response to Project 515 to a brainstorming <br />meeting on Tuesday, April 3rd from 7:00-8:30 in the Fireside room at the Oval. <br />This group could act as the Marriage Amendment Advisory Group. <br />The Committee will consult this group for their opinion on: <br />1) Panel of Religious Leaders: The Programming Committee will consult this <br />Committee on the possibility of hosting an evening of discussion led by a <br />panel of diverse religious leaders on the topic of the marriage amendment. <br />Should the HRC sponsor a panel discussion on this topic at a neutral setting? <br />Does this group have thoughts on the formatting of such a program?
