<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 07/26/04 <br />Minutes - Page 2 <br /> <br />removed for discussion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka requested that Consent Agenda item <br />3.f, entitled, "Approve Interim Use Permit Renewing and <br />Expanding Temporary Classroom Facilities Serving the Family <br />Academy Charter School located at Advent Lutheran Church, <br />3000 Hamline Avenue (PF 3584)," be removed for discussion. <br /> <br />There were no other changes to the agenda. <br /> <br />Public Comment about City Issues Public Comment <br />Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the <br />audience on any non-agenda items. <br /> <br />A. Al Sands, 2612 AIdine Street <br />Mr. Sands alleged that a lie continued to be spread around <br />the community over the last several months related to the <br />need for a "big box" retailer, such as Costco, as a necessary <br />and integral part of the proposed Phase I Twin Lakes <br />Redevelopment project, in order to support housing. Mr. <br />Sands opined that this was a false assumption; that 200,000 <br />square feet of retail was not necessary, and provided his <br />interpretation of the City's Economic Development <br />Attorney Jim Casserly's financial data to support his <br />theory . <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Mr. Sands for his comments; <br />noting that public comment on the proposed Twin Lakes <br />project would be heard at a future meeting. <br /> <br />B. John KysyIyczyn, 3083 N Victoria Street <br />Mr. Kysylyczyn alerted Councilmembers and staff to <br />continuing visual and audio problems in airing the Council <br />meetings, since the meetings had been moved to the <br />Roseville Skating Center to accommodate City Hall and <br />Council Chambers remodeling. Mr. Kysylyczyn <br />encouraged staff to remedy the situation. <br /> <br />Mr. Kysylyczyn alleged a lack of organization and <br />leadership on the part of the City Council related to where <br />and when comments would be taken from the public related <br />
