1059 Woodhill Drive
Roseville, NN 55113
August 12, 2004

Mayor Craig Clausing, Council Members
and Roseville City Staff
2660 Civic Center Drive
Roseville, MN 55113

Dear Mayor, Council members and staff;

After being out of town for several weeks, I was astounded
to learn on my return that there is a proposal in our city to
sell certain tracts of park land to help balance the city budget
or to make up existing deficit in the 2005 budget!

Since we purchased our home here in early 1962 we have
supported and participated in, whenever possible, the development
of our wonderful park system - land most of which was purchased
shortly before we moved here.

The residents of this community have made an enormous
personal and financial committment over these 40+ years in the
development and maintenance of this award winning system.

Already, in recent years, some of the promises made for
additional land acquisition have been broken; surely there
have to be some other ways to address budget shortfalls than
by parting with irreplaceable, precious properties!

Our park system, with active developed as well as "open
space" is a major feature which makes our community unique
among the first-ring suburbs in this sprawling metropolitan
area of "Twin Cities" and surrounding counties.

Please find another way!!!
