<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 11/08/04 <br />Minutes - Page 22 <br /> <br />Ms. Boyd also thanked whoever was responsible for the beautiful <br />lighting around the City campus. Mayor Klausing recognized <br />the lighting was provided by the Roseville Visitor's Association. <br /> <br />Ihlan moved, Maschka seconded, authorized staff to continue to <br />troubleshoot and address the pressure problems at the OVAL; <br />and further authorized staff to proceed in the meantime to plan <br />and provide for a full natural ice season at the OV AL for the <br />2004/05 season on the entire surface for practice and <br />experimental purposes as outlined in the staff report and Request <br />for Council Action dated November 8, 2004. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder reiterated his concern regarding the <br />accuracy of operational cost/revenue projections prepared by <br />staff; and his preference for another option. Councilmember <br />Schroeder also opined his support of the prudent seeking of <br />regional funding at this time, prior to repairs of the facility. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing spoke in favor of the motion, expressing his <br />concern that current OV AL clients may find another facility, <br />proving detrimental to future operations. Mayor Klausing <br />opined his preference for the current recommendation, followed <br />in the near future for seeking legislation through implementation <br />of the task forces. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan concurred with Mayor Klausing's <br />comments as the Council's good - fai th gesture to the skating <br />clubs; opining that it was a community asset, with the current <br />recommendation being the best solution possible at this time, and <br />supporting the future research on other funding sources for the <br />long-term viability of the facility. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kough, Maschka, Ihlan and Klausing. <br />Nays: Schroeder. <br />
