November 1,

Roseville City Council
2660 Civic Center Drive
MN 55113

Dear RoseviIle City Council members:

This letter is in regards to the John Rose Oval which currently is in need of repair to
restore operations. The Roseville Area Youth Hockey Association supports a decision by
the City Council to approve the necessary expenditure to repair the John Rose Oval.
Although the expense appears high, the John Rose Oval is an important part of the
recreation activities in Roseville. Our association has approximately 500 kids that use the
Oval during the fall and winter season. Our kids depend greatly on the use of the Oval.
The Roseville Youth Hockey Association serves kids ages five to eighteen.

Not only does our association depend, enjoy and support the Oval, but other
organizations and the general public do as well. Every week night and weekend
beginning in mid November through mid February, the Oval appears to be a winter
wonderland. So many children and adults are seen using this great fa.cility. This facility
brings people together from all parts of our city as well as surrounding communities. It is
just a great gathering place.

I know the council understands the importance the Oval has in our community . We as an
association want to reinforce that understanding with a list of Oval supporters. Therefore,
I have attached a list of signatures from within our association that have read this letter
and support the Roseville City Council to approve the expenditures necessary for the
repair of the John Rose Oval.

Weare hopeful that a quick resolution to this difficult situation can be made so the kids
can get back on the ice soon.

Sincerely,

Vie Brodt, President
Roseville Area Youth Hockey Association
