<br />Regular City Council Minutes -1/06/03 <br />Page 13 <br /> <br />J. <br /> <br />Approving Purchases/Contracts in Excess of $5,000 <br /> <br />Joseph Machyowsky, 2690 North Oxford Street <br />Mr. Machyowsky had several questions regarding <br />proposed payment in the amount of $32,643.04 for the <br />2003 Housing Resource Center Program; and proposed <br />payment in the amount of $43,797.00 for the City's 2003 <br />contribution to the Northwest Youth and Family program. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Dennis Welsch <br />responded that the City of Roseville collaborated with the <br />other six (6) cities comprising the 1-35W Corridor <br />Coalition in offering housing rebates, construction loans <br />and contractor specifications for residents, with over three- <br />hundred fifty (350) inquiries received in 2002. <br /> <br />Mr. tviachyowsky asked how the program was funded. <br /> <br />Mr. Welsch responded that it was funded through the 1- <br />35W Corridor Coalition housing program as a separate <br />fund of between $600,000 - $800,000 in a type of <br />Revolving Loan Fund. <br /> <br />Mr. Machyowsky asked the funding source of the funds <br />for the Northwest Youth and Family contribution for 2003. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller responded that it was an expense to the General <br />Fund, which was funded approximately half by property <br />taxes, and half through other revenue source including <br />interest earnings. <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Maschka seconded, approval of the <br />list of general purchases and/or contracts for services, with <br />the exception of payment in the amount of $5,437.89 to <br />Hewlett Packard for laptops for field inspectors. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing sought clarification of the <br />motion before the Council. Mayor Kysylyczyn refused to <br />clarify it and called the motion. <br /> <br />Purchases and <br />Contracts in <br />Excess of $5,000 <br />
