<br /> <br /> <br />Senior Activities -- City of Roseville <br /> <br />Each autumn, the Roseville Police sponsor a Senior Safety Camp. Seniors attend <br />lectures on defensive driving, prescription drug interaction, latest scams targeting seniors, <br />fire safety in the home, as well as diabetes screening, blood pressure and vision checks. <br />They are provided with lneals and snacks throughout the day. <br /> <br />Cri111e Prevention Specialist Heather Darby provides one-on-one and group educational <br />programs throughout the conlnlunity. She provides Police Safety Tips with specific <br />emphasis on issues of inlportance to seniors. Contact Heather at 651-490-2262. <br /> <br />The Fire Department offers Fire Safety Programs to senior citizens. They speak to <br />seniors in their homes, at community meetings and at nursing homes. Fire Departlnent <br />staffwill visit seniors' homes to install smoke detectors or change snloke detector <br />batteries if they request it. Seniors can call Fire Inspector Doug Johnson at 651-490-2237 <br />for fire safety information. <br /> <br />Roseville Police offer the Are You Okay? Progranl, an autonlated phone systeln that <br />calls a person every morning to 111ake sure the person is okay. If no one answers the <br />Police contact a family, friend or neighbor who you've identified to check on you. Call <br />651-490-2255 to apply for the progrmn. <br /> <br />The City, through the COlnmunity Develop111ent Departnlent, contracts with <br />HousingResource Center is a free service for Roseville and other northern comnlunity <br />residents. The HRC: <br />· Assists homeowners with flexible financing tools to conlplete hOlne inlprovenlent <br />projects <br />· Assists homeowners through the construction process of renovating their homes <br />· Assists individuals and families in becOlning new homeowners <br />· Assists in contractor and homeowner disputes <br /> <br />Call 651-486-7401 to learn more about HousingResource Center programs. <br /> <br />The Senior Housing Regeneration Program is specifically designed for older adults <br />who are considering selling their single-family hOlnes. It is funded by the Greater <br />Metropolitan Housing Corporation (GMHC) which has been helping to provide <br />affordable housing and com111unity revitalization for more than 30 years.
