<br />~ <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />Special Session of the City Council <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />4:30 p.m. <br />Monday, February 27, 2006 <br /> <br />Convene Meeting/Call Roll <br />Mayor Klausing called the Special Session of the City Council to order at 4:40 p.m. in the <br />City Council Chambers, with all due notice having been provided. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing, Councilmembers Kough, Pust, Ihlan and Maschka were present. <br /> <br />Also in attendance: Center for Policy, Planning & Performance Consultant Barbara Raye; <br />City Manager Neal Beets; Parks & Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke; Fire Chief Rich <br />Gasaway; Finance Director Chris Miller; Public Works and Engineering Director Duane <br />Schwartz; and Police Chief Carol Sletner. <br /> <br />1. Motion to Broadcast this Special Meeting. Broadcast <br />Ihlan moved, Kough seconded, to broadcast this Special Meeting Special Meeting <br />of the City Council. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kough; Pust; Ihlan; and Maschka. <br />Nays: Klausing. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Hear from Barbara Raye about learning styles and long- <br />range strategic planning. <br />Barbara Raye introduced herself to the City Council. Ms. Raye <br />shared her desire to produce something worthwhile in <br />community visioning and strategic planning. She reviewed the <br />learning styles instrument that each council member and <br />department head completed, describing the four learning styles, <br />the characteristics of each style, and then provided an overview <br />of the results of the Learning Styles Inventory.
